Home Instead 2026 WOW Guide: Your Local What’s On Where Guide for Older Adults

What is the Home Instead WOW Guide?
The Home Instead What’s On Where Guide, often known as the WOW Guide, is a local directory of activities and services for older people living in Ilkley, Otley, Aireborough and surrounding communities.
This year’s guide includes listings for:
- Social clubs and friendship groups for older adults
- Exercise and wellbeing classes
- Hobby and interest groups held at local places such as The Clarke Foley Community Hub
- Community support services and charities including Dementia Forward & Carers Leeds
- Daytime activities available during the week and specialist dementia day services from The Rainbow Care Group

All listings have been carefully gathered from trusted local organisations to ensure the information is relevant, accessible and community-focused.
At Home Instead, we understand how important social connection is for health and wellbeing as we age. Many older people want to stay active and involved but aren’t always aware of what’s available locally.
That’s why we created the WOW Guide for Ilkley, Otley & Aireborough to make it easier to discover local opportunities, reduce loneliness, and support independence.
Who is the WOW Guide for?
The guide helps older adults:
- Find activities close to home
- Meet new people and maintain friendships
- Stay physically and mentally active
- Build confidence getting out into the community
Who Can Use the WOW Guide?
The What’s On Where Guide is free and available to everyone, including:
- Older adults living in Ilkley, Otley and Aireborough.
- Families supporting an older relative
- Community groups and volunteers
