We are Home Instead, and we provide award winning home care to older people nationwide. Back in 1994, our founders were searching for a way to keep their 89-year-old grandmother at home ‘instead’ of going into residential care. Grandma Manhart became our very first client and since then, our care expertise has led us to become the world’s largest global home care network supporting more than 100,000 older people worldwide.

Instead, we take the time to get to know each individual – their needs, preferences, and personality – and build a care plan that evolves with them. Whether it’s companionship, personal care, specialist dementia support, or clinical services, our Care Professionals are trained to deliver care that’s as unique as the people they support.

We believe in consistency and connection. That’s why we match clients with Care Professionals based not just on skills, but on shared interests and values. This helps build meaningful relationships and ensures that every visit, which always lasts at least an hour, is an opportunity for genuine companionship as well as high-quality care.

About Us

Industry leading training

We only recruit those with a genuine passion for care –  individuals who are empathetic, enthusiastic, and committed to making a difference. Each Care Professional undergoes industry-leading training, accredited by medical and nursing professionals, and receives ongoing development to ensure they’re equipped to handle even the most complex care needs. Many are trained in clinical skills such as catheter care, stoma care, and wound management, and they work closely with healthcare teams to support continuity of care at home.

We came to the UK in 2005 and now have more than 265 locally owned offices delivering home care. In 2021, technology provider Honor acquired Home Instead bringing the largest home care network and leading care technology platform together to pioneer innovations in the care sector.
