Home Care Awards success

Home Care Awards 2026
It was a double success for Home Instead UK at the recent Home Care Awards, as we won the top prize for ‘Marketing Expertise’ and were highly commended for ‘Dementia Care Expertise’.
A ceremony that celebrated the very best of our sector, the Home Care Awards recognises the innovation that keeps the industry strong and well-equipped to support people at home.
Marketing Expertise
The judges were impressed with our ‘Spot the Signs’ campaign. It’s all too common that families delay conversations about care until crisis point; in fact, our research found that 81% of people are reluctant to discuss care options with parents. We wanted to empower people to identify whether their parents need help at home and in what area.
Our Spot the Signs checklist was a natural addition to our ‘Care Conversations’ resource hub, which was launched a few years ago and supports people in bringing up the topic of care. As part of Spot the Signs, we create various videos including this, which visually showed the typical signs that people should look out for.
We were delighted that the campaign reached millions of people via the press, including top regional titles like the Daily Record, supporting many of them who need support with opening up the care conversation with parents.
Dementia Care Expertise
We have offered our dementia care for over a decade, and we’ve recently built significant momentum. This was acknowledged in our Home Care Award recognition.
Over the past couple of years we have done many things to boost our support for people with dementia and their families, including partnering with Training2Care and creating YouTube videos dedicated to supporting dementia caregivers.
We’re particularly proud of the dementia statistics we uncovered in our New Ageing Index, where we survey the general public on old age and care matters. One area of the survey found that dementia has overtaken cancer as the most feared illness. Getting media coverage in top titles, including the Daily Telegraph, we have urged ministers to take bolder action as they deal with a rapidly growing dementia population. The judges of the Home Care Awards were impressed by the level of impact we achieved as a company campaigning for dementia awareness.

A strong home care sector
The ceremony was a reminder that the home care sector is growing fast thanks to the dedicated people who are part of it.
We’d like to congratulate all of the winners and those that were highly commended. As the hard work continues, the sector will undoubtedly innovate further.
