Home Care Awards Shortlist

Home Instead shortlisted for three categories.

Home Instead UK has officially been shortlisted for the 2025 Home Care Awards in three prestigious categories.

This recognition isn’t just about being a leader in the sector; it’s a testament to the innovation and dedication into three key areas: Dementia Care Expertise, Marketing Expertise, and Live-in Care.

Why were we  shortlisted for our dementia care expertise

With over half of Home Instead’s clients living with dementia, we’ve  moved beyond traditional ‘care’ to create a world-leading support ecosystem for families. This support includes:

  • The “Betty’s Flat” Initiative: To bridge the gap between theory and reality, Home Instead created “Betty’s Flat”—a simulated home environment within its offices. Over 2,000 Care Professionals have now used this space to practice “real-life” scenarios, from emotional connection to identifying household hazards.
  • Revolutionary training: In 2024, Home Instead transformed its City & Guilds-assured dementia training  by moving to a blended learning model of in- person and virtual. This meant the training was made  more accessible and engaging for staff with busy lives.
  • The Virtual Dementia Bus: By partnering with Training 2 Care, Home Instead brought a sensory “dementia experience” to local high streets. This allows families and professionals to physically experience the sensory overload and challenges of dementia, helping them understand what it’s like to live with it.
  • Dedicated resources on YouTube: In 2024, Home Instead relaunched its YouTube channel, dedicated to help dementia caregivers handle daily challenges with confidence. The channel features real stories and answers questions posed by families UK wide about living with dementia.
  • Actionable Research: Our “New Ageing Index” study revealed that 65% of people believe care homes should be a last resort for dementia, directly informing how Home Instead advocates for home-based solutions.
