Spot the Signs earns Home Care Awards shortlisting for Marketing Expertise

Marketing Expertise

We’re super excited to be shortlisted in the 2025 Home Care Awards in not one, not two but three categories this year!

We’re finalists in these three categories:

  • Dementia Care Expertise
  • Marketing Expertise
  • Live-in Care.

Why we were shortlisted for our Marketing Expertise:

The campaign up for nomination is Home Instead’s “Spot the Signs” campaign which tackled one of the hardest hurdles in home care: having the “Care Conversation.” Research showed that 81% of adults are reluctant to speak to their parents about care until a crisis happens.

We turned an emotionally raw moment faced by families across the UK and we got people talking openly about care.

What Spot the Signs did:

  • Empowered Families: The campaign provided a free, downloadable checklist to help adult children objectively assess their parents’ needs.
  • Massive reach and impact: The campaign reached 23.6 million through media stories and saw thousands of  resource downloads, proving there was a massive hunger for this type of care guidance.
  • Breaking the taboo: Through emotional storytelling on social media, the campaign sparked national discussion, helping families move from “denial” to “reflection” without the need for conflict.

These were just some of the words from people who engaged with our campaign:

“Brilliant video. Made me cry. Very powerful. Well done for raising awareness. Sometimes also we don’t want to admit the things we know deep down . Carers do a wonderful job for people 24/7. Heroes xx”

“I love this film, it really speaks to me. Funny how your brain doesn’t want you to see that decline when it’s a close family member – Often signs that our client team will spot for you straight away! The best bit is that they also have a solution ”

“Very powerful and really resonated with me”
