Get Moving, Make Friends: Love to Move Comes to Hayling Island!<br />
We’re delighted to announce that a brand-new Love to Move class is starting at Hayling Island Community Centre this autumn, brought to you by Home Instead Havant. The first session will take place on Monday 13th October, and from then on the class will run every Monday afternoon from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
Developed by the British Gymnastics Foundation, Love to Move is a fun, chair-based exercise programme specially designed for older adults. The movements are gentle, enjoyable, and suitable for all abilities. It’s not just about keeping fit – research has shown the programme can have a significant impact on cognitive health too, especially for those living with dementia.
The unique way Love to Move combines movement patterns is proven to:
• Improve memory and attention
• Reduce feelings of anxiety and agitation
• Support coordination and balance
• Lift mood and overall wellbeing
Many families have found that regular participation helps their loved ones feel more relaxed, engaged, and confident in daily life. It’s a simple but powerful way to boost both body and mind.
These classes are also about connection and community. Love to Move is a wonderful way to spend an hour each week with others – moving, chatting, and enjoying a supportive, friendly atmosphere. Whether you come along on your own or with a loved one, you’ll be warmly welcomed.
At Home Instead Havant, we’re passionate about supporting older adults and those living with dementia to stay active, independent, and socially connected. That’s why we’re so pleased to be bringing this inspiring programme to Hayling Island.
