Beside the Seaside with Home Instead Havant

Discover how we maintain the joy of being beside the seaside for our home care clients, at Home Instead Havant, supporting outings and activities in our local area.

At Home Instead Havant, we take enormous pleasure in accompanying many of our home care clients on their favourite local outings – especially as we’re so fortunate to be beside the sea! We will go the extra mile to make sure our clients are supported to stay independent in the place and the area they call home. Here’s a glimpse into the activities we enjoy together, and why these moments make such a difference.

For our clients and Care Professionals who call the local area home, being beside the seaside is a special part of where we live. Getting out and about to the beach is a popular choice among our clients. Hayling Island offers lots of flat walks by the sea, and a stroll along the shore from Beachlands Tourist office (just minutes away from our local team office) combines a flat walk with the fresh sea breeze. These moments aren’t just about physical activity, they’re also about enjoying the beauty of our local surroundings as well as good company.

Nearby in our little corner of the world boasts the pretty little village Bosham, a place steeped in charm and history and perfect for watching the boats in the harbour or a browse in the shops. In Emsworth, our Care Professionals often enjoy a walk around the mill pond with clients, having the beach on one side and the sea on the other. We are spoilt for choice for cafes, and whether we’re at the ever-popular Driftwood Cafe or savouring ice creams at Flintstones Tea Room on a summer’s day, these visits can stimulate conversation and companionship, which are as warming as any pot of tea that we share.

A favourite for many is the stunning stately home and estate of Stansted House, where we occasionally venture for a stroll, or to chat over a cuppa at the Pavilion Tearoom in the walled garden where there is always something happening. For those with green fingers, we also love to support and encourage hobbies and interests, and so a visit to Keydells is perfect. There is also the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon tea here – a treat to look forward to and brighten the day. And come Christmas, Keydells is always a seasonal lift for our clients, as we can enjoy the renowned Christmas display.

Getting out and about helps to foster the independence and emotional well-being of our clients, staying engaged in their local community helps maintain an active and engaged lifestyle. At Home Instead, we believe in companionship and relationship-led care, it’s the shared experiences and joyful moments we create that truly enrich the lives of our clients.
