Home Instead wins gold at national business awards

The team at home care company, Home Instead Senior Care, in Macclesfield is celebrating after the company collected a national business award earlier this month.

Steve & Julie Akroyd’s business is part of a national network of offices, specialising in the provision of non-medical care to the elderly so that they can remain living in their own homes. The national company has been named as the British Franchise Association HSBC Franchisor of the Year and collected the Gold award at a glittering awards ceremony in London.

Home Instead was recognised for business growth, the Macclesfield office is one of 141 offices located across the country, and for the work it has done campaigning for better standards in the elderly care sector and working to directly influence and shape the way care is delivered.

Commenting on the award, Julie said, “What we do locally brings peace of mind to our clients and their families and it is hugely satisfying to receive national recognition for the work we do.

It is testament to the dedication of all the local teams of caregivers and staff that this award not only recognises the success of the business but the work we are doing to improve standards of care in the sector. It is our stated aim to change the face of ageing in the UK and this is exactly what we are doing here in Macclesfield and surrounding areas.

Home Instead Senior Care was set up in the UK in 2006 and the Macclesfield office based in Tytherington opened in 2007. The company has created 70 jobs in the local area to date and is looking to recruit 20 caregivers in the coming 6 months.
