Working for Home Instead is a pleasure, the office staff are extremely helpful in trying to accommodate a good work life balance and matching Clients to Carers, extremely professional at all times and always on hand to resolve any queries. A joy to work for.
For me as a carer it’s about building a trusting relationship and getting to know the person as an individual as well as following all the appropriate guidelines. I might be the only person they see that day so I want to do everything I can in that time to fulfill all their needs and wishes and have a positive impact on that person’s day.
I love my role and don't really think of it as a job it’s a pleasure and a privilege that people let me in to their home to help them stay in surroundings that make them feel happy and safe. I have met the most amazing, interesting people who really brighten my day.

I have been working for home instead for 8 years now. When I started, I was 55 and had just sold my business which I had had for 23 years.
I am very dyslexic and thought there was nothing I could do. My wife suggested I try care as I used to look after my father. I rang home instead and got an interview. I explained that I was dyslexic to the Recruiter, she told me as long as I made it clear to the office staff to decipher it should be ok.
I was encouraged and assisted to do a diploma at mac college and promoted to supervisor.
I have loved every minute of my time here caring for my clients getting to know them and their stories and helping them to stay at home and be the best they can be.
It’s incredibly humbling to receive the thanks of the client and their families and would and do
recommend it to anyone who wants to have a full and rewarding Career.

It really means a lot to me to be a part of a team of carers who support our clients with a person- centred approach. This means that everyone receives a care package to suit their needs as per their choices and they can stay confident and comfortable whilst maintaining their independence for longer, all while remaining in their own home.”
