At Home Instead Ealing, we often say that exceptional care starts with exceptional people, and this month, that belief has never rung truer.

We are over the moon to announce that our incredible Registered Care Manager, Paschalina Pazou, has not only won Best Dementia Registered Manager at the 2025 Dementia Care Awards, but also scooped a second national title: Dementia Specialist of the Year at the Stars of Social Care Awards!

It’s been an unforgettable time, filled with pride, celebration, and more than a few happy tears. These two prestigious awards shine a spotlight on Paschalina’s unwavering commitment to dementia care; a passion that runs through every decision she makes, every family she supports, and every Care Professional she mentors.

A Moment to Celebrate, A Career of Dedication

For anyone who’s met Paschalina, these wins won’t come as a surprise. A trained nurse with a Master’s in dementia care, Paschalina has long championed a person-centred approach that prioritises dignity, emotional wellbeing, and joy, even in the most challenging moments. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: every moment matters.

This belief isn’t just words on paper. It’s the heartbeat of our service here in Ealing and it’s changed real lives. Whether she’s guiding families through a loved one’s diagnosis, supporting Care Professionals with practical training, or rewriting how we speak about dementia to be more empowering and respectful, Paschalina leads with compassion and clarity.

Words From the Judges

Paschalina is a remarkable winner for her transformative approach to dementia care, blending academic expertise with compassionate practice. Her evidence-based insights have redefined care at Home Instead, embedding meaningful engagement into everyday routines. By reshaping care plans with empowering, strengths-based language and promoting joyful, moment-focused support, she has uplifted emotional wellbeing for clients and deepened purpose for care professionals. Paschalina’s work not only enhances lives but reshapes how dementia care is understood and delivered, making a lasting, positive impact.”

Leading with Innovation and Heart

Paschalina’s leadership has transformed our local approach to dementia care. Her groundbreaking academic research focused on helping individuals with dementia “live for the moment,” encouraging us all to prioritise connection, comfort, and the now, rather than solely focusing on memory loss.

This insight has reshaped our entire care ethos. We don’t just support people with dementia — we support people as people. We sing with them, we laugh with them, we listen. Because, as Paschalina often reminds us, what matters most is how we make people feel.

That mindset is now baked into our training, our language, and our daily practices. It’s why our Care Professionals feel so equipped and confident, and why so many families describe our service as “life-changing.”

A Leader Who Stands Beside You

In her day-to-day role, Paschalina is many things: a mentor, a coach, a calm presence, and a fierce advocate for compassionate care. Families often refer to her as their “guardian angel” — someone who stands beside them during some of life’s hardest moments, offering not just practical support, but empathy and understanding.

One client’s daughter put it perfectly:

“She didn’t support us from behind, or tell us what to do. She stood beside us on our dark path and was our guiding light.”

That’s the kind of care Paschalina delivers; not just professionally, but personally. And that’s exactly what these awards recognise: care that is deeply human, completely person-centred, and led from the heart.

A Bright Future Ahead

Winning two national awards is no small feat and it marks a huge milestone in Paschalina’s already remarkable career. But we know this is only the beginning. Her vision, leadership, and deep understanding of dementia care are already influencing others across the sector, and we’re excited to see what the future holds.

Paschalina, from all of us at Home Instead Ealing – Congratulations! Your passion lifts us all, your leadership inspires us daily, and your care changes lives. We are so proud to have you leading our team, and we are beyond grateful for everything you do.
