Local CAREGivers Annette Connor, Christine Camsell, Janet Hughes and Angela Taylor, have all reached the regional finals of the Great North East Care Awards 2013.

Part of the Great British Care Awards, the awards are held each year across the UK and recognise and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Annette, who is shortlisted for the Registered Care Manager Award, Christine for the Dementia Carer Award, Janet for the Dignity in Care Award and Angela for the Care Newcomer Award, all work for local at-home care company, Home Instead Senior Care Durham.

They will learn if they are winners at a glitzy award evening being held at The Hilton Hotel in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on November 23rd. The caring quartet were nominated by owner and director Trudi Jameson, for the wonderful ways in which they have gone that extra mile to make a real difference to the lives of their clients, through both companionship and care, in particular to those with complex needs, such as dementia. As well as the ways in which they have gone above and beyond to support their colleagues.

Trudi added, “I’m extremely proud of my whole team of CAREGivers, they are all exceptional caring individuals, who truly deserve the type of recognition that an award like this would bring, I’m sorry I couldn’t nominate each and everyone of them.

Annette, Christine, Janet and Angela bring tremendous enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment to their roles and are passionate about delivering care to their clients that not only meets their exceptions and requirements but exceeds them.

“It is a real honour to make it to the finals of these prestigious awards and am very proud of all my nominated team members, who have received nothing but high praise from clients, family members and colleagues alike. We all have our fingers crossed for November 23rd.”
