Getting the right support at night can make all the difference in feeling safe and settled at home. Across Dundee, Arbroath and Forfar, our overnight Care Professionals support people in ways that suit them best – whether that’s a ‘sleeping’ night service for peace of mind, or a ‘waking’ night service for more continuous support. We understand night-time routines are personal, so we take time to learn what helps each person feel most comfortable, from evening rituals to morning wake-up preferences. A dedicated Care Professional will be close at hand to reassure and offer advice through the night.

Having the same Care Professional for overnight stays creates a natural, comfortable routine for everyone. Our clients tell us how much it means to see a familiar face each evening – someone who knows exactly how they like their evening cup of tea, understands their bedtime routine, and recognises when they might need extra support during the night. This consistency is especially important for people living with conditions like dementia or Parkinson’s, where familiar surroundings and faces help reduce anxiety and promote better sleep.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

Our clients’ families often tell us on homecare.co.uk how overnight support brings peace of mind. As one daughter shared about her mother’s care: “They helped support me with both parents who have dementia… nothing was a problem, they supported me fully.” Whether it’s short-term support after a hospital stay or ongoing care, we help people feel secure through the night while giving family carers a chance to rest.

A Care Professional is awake and on duty in your home throughout the night. This is the best option for those who require more support or assistance during the night, such as with administering medication, bathroom visits, repositioning, or other issues.
Having care at home overnight means that you or your loved one can feel safe and supported within their own home, no matter what time of day or night it is. Knowing there is someone nearby helps provide peace of mind during the nighttime hours, resulting in a better night’s sleep.
