The Doncaster Companionship Care team, here to help every step of the way

Companionship care brings a friendly, familiar face into your loved one’s home – someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with them and helps them stay active, connected and independent. Our Care Professionals come from all sorts of backgrounds and many have been with us for years, giving clients the continuity and trust that makes such a difference. Each visit lasts at least an hour, so there’s quality time to have a chat, help with a bit of shopping, go for a walk around Conisbrough or Bawtry, or simply go for lunch together at a local garden centre. Unlike many care providers, we don’t wear uniforms. This means when we visit or out and about in Doncaster town centre or visiting a local cafe, it feels relaxed and natural – more like spending time with a friend or loved one.

Why Companionship Care may be right for you

We’re very particular about who joins our team. Every Care Professional is fully employed by us, thoroughly background-checked with multiple references, and receives comprehensive training before their first visit. We look after our staff well, supporting them throughout their careers and celebrating work anniversaries – which is why so many stay with us for years. This investment means clients benefit from experienced, confident Care Professionals who know how to do things with people rather than for them, promoting independence while keeping a close eye on overall wellbeing. Our team has spotted early signs of things like infections, falls risks or memory changes, alerting families before small concerns become bigger problems.

I can’t praise the care staff enough, they have been wonderful with my dad. Always on time, very caring, kind and hard working and I know I can trust them to make sure he is OK which is such a relief. They have been a huge help to all of us, taking some of the burden of caring for my dad from my mum and putting my mind at ease knowing that someone is there to help.
Both my mum and dad are really happy with them, they enjoy their company and appreciate their care and kindness. My contact with the office has always been excellent and very professional and they have responded very quickly to any queries or concerns. Very happy with the service provided.

I have been impressed with the care that Mum and Dad received from the very first visit to assess their needs to the daily visits from the care professionals. Whenever there was a need for additional carers, the admin team did everything they could to arrange the extra carers and nothing was too much trouble even at very short notice or out of hours!
The carers who visited and cared for Mum and Dad were wonderful. Mum and Dad both thought so! They knew that no matter who came, they would be well cared for. Mum especially enjoyed having a chat and it definitely kept her going when she was both caring for Dad and living alone.

When it became clear that my mother-in-law needed help with personal care due to Alzheimers, it felt daunting to find a care provider. Home Instead were amazing from the first contact, they put us at ease, listened to our concerns and were able to accommodate her needs.
The carers took the time to get to know her, and kept everything just how she liked it, attention to detail, no shortcuts, no rushing off to the next call. She always enjoyed their company. They helped with light housework too which was so important to her.

Tailored Companionship Care in Doncaster

Yvonne S, writing on homecare.co.uk, described how her mother “formed relationships with carers who soon became used to the way she liked things done.” She appreciated that staff “listened to her (and us) regarding the little things that mean so much, especially when things were becoming increasingly scary due to our mam’s memory failing her.” Elizabeth M echoed this, saying the care staff have been “wonderful with my dad” and that both her parents “enjoy their company and appreciate their care and kindness.” That’s what companionship care is really about – building genuine relationships that bring comfort, company and a bit of joy into everyday life.
