Success for Home Instead at the Dementia Care Awards

We’re delighted that Home Instead saw success at the Dementia Care Awards, recognising our commitment to providing specialist dementia care in people’s own homes.

The very best of dementia care is celebrated at the awards ceremony, from the hardworking carers who deliver the care, to the people behind the scenes who spearhead innovation in the sector.

Congratulations are in order for Paschalina Pazou from Home Instead Wembley, who won the ‘Dementia Registered Manager Award (Community)’ for her commitment to providing quality dementia care to local people. As if that wasn’t enough, Paschalina also won at the Stars of Social Care Awards on the same week, taking home the prize for ‘Dementia Specialist’.

Home Instead Durham also have a reason to celebrate, being highly commended for ‘Dementia Friendly Business’, with the judging panel calling them ‘a force to be reckoned with’.

Over the years, we have seen our franchise teams give older people living with the condition the chance to stay in their beloved homes. For many of our dementia clients, their Care Professional has helped them retain their independence and boost their confidence; a skill learnt from our award-winning training programme.

The work that our franchise teams do to support people with dementia doesn’t stop there! Several of our teams across the UK run events such as free dementia training and running memory cafés, for people living with the condition and their families. It gives them the chance to understand what support is available and meet people in their own position.

Martin Jones MBE, CEO of Home Instead UK & International, says: “I want to congratulate everyone who is involved with caring for those with dementia. You should be so proud of the difference you make.

“We are delighted for our teams across the country who won or were nominated for a Dementia Care Award. It’s thanks to them that many families can rest assured that their loved one living with the condition is in safe hands.

“Home is where most of us want to spend our later years, and it’s important for people with dementia and their families to understand that it is possible with the right support to continue to live at home for as long as possible.

“We will continue to support our teams with ongoing training programmes so we can provide the very best practical and emotional care crucial for people with dementia, giving families the chance to enjoy the time they have together.”
