Care Pro joins bid for Christmas No.1 song

Our very own Home Instead Care Professional has joined a choir of caregivers to recreate Robbie Williams’ iconic hit ‘Angels’ in a bid to become the 2025 UK Christmas No.1.

Lottie Lowther took time out from caring for clients to join fellow caregivers in recording the 1997 hit at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. The recording also features famous music industry names – ‘The Voice’ musician Kuill and Bucks Fizz star Jay Aston:watch the preview here. Our former Care Pro Will Anderson (the winner of Home Care’s Got Talent), is also proudly part of the choir.

Although the original release never reached the top spot – making it to no.4 in the charts in December 1997 – the group believes it could take flight this time with the public’s support.

While everyone involved hopes the single will claim the coveted Christmas No.1 title, the recording’s true purpose has real heart. All profits raised from the single will be donated to the Care Workers’ Charity and shine a much-deserved spotlight on its incredible work to support the social care workforce.

Lottie, who works as a Care Professional for Home Instead Fareham and Gosport, explained: “When I was approached with the opportunity to record a potential Christmas No.1, it was an instant yes! Being invited to record at the iconic Abbey Road Studios was overwhelming to say the least and the thought of stepping into the very rooms where legends like The Beatles once created their masterpieces sent shivers down my spine.

“This has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – not only to sing our hearts out to the nation but also highlight the outstanding work done by caregivers both here across Fareham & Gosport and the whole of the UK. It’s surreal being able to merge my passion for music with the everyday responsibilities of being a carer. Caregivers provide people with vital support in the comfort of their own home, increasing their overall quality of life but it’s often an undervalued profession as we see highlighted so regularly in the media.

“It will be a dream come true if we can achieve our goal of becoming the Christmas No.1 and showcase the importance of the people employed in social care.”

Martin Jones, CEO UK and International at Home Instead, said: “Seeing one of our very own Care Professionals join a choir of caregivers is truly heartwarming. It’s a powerful reminder that our talented Care Professionals also have incredible gifts beyond their profession. This bid for Christmas No.1 isn’t just about music; it’s about showcasing the unity of care workers, their passion and celebrating the people who make a real difference every day. We’re proud to be part of something so special that honours the amazing care community.”

Care workers travelled from as far away as Scotland and North Wales to take part, representing home care providers Caremark, Home Instead, Voyage Care, Visiting Angels, Mochridhe, Vitality Care and Calon Lan Community Care.
