West Lancashire Borough Council - Charter Award

West Lancashire Borough Council has selected Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley to be granted one of their first Employment & Skills Charter Awards 2016-2017, for our passionate contribution, dedication and support for local employment and skills training initiatives in West Lancashire.

This excellent Charter initiative is designed to recognise and engage with local businesses in West Lancashire, whilst helping achieve the following key areas: being proud of West Lancashire, getting the right skills for the right business and giving West Lancashire jobs to West Lancashire people.

Gail Godson Director goes on to say ’ we were delighted to be contacted by Tracey Shaw, Business Engagement Officer at West Lancashire Borough Council who kindly notified us of the excellent Charter Award. Clearly we continue to retain our passion about delivering high quality care services to adults and older people in our local community, helping them to remain at home for longer. Skills development forms a vital part of our ongoing continuous improvement and remains at the core of everything we do’.

In 2016 alone, we have plans to invest over four thousand hours of staff training and development, attended local business events, offer work shadowing, work experience opportunities and mentoring, roll out a new E-Learning culture, continue to support local careers events at local Schools and Colleges, joined the judging panel for the West Lancashire Apprenticeships of the Year Awards 2016 and recruited three new apprentice’s ourselves.
