The place to be seen on Friday 17th June was The Floral Hall, Southport home for the evening of the NHS Southport and Ormskirk Pride Awards 2016. With nearly 300 people in attendance, many of them being shortlisted in the seven different award categories.
The NHS Pride Awards celebrated the dedication and commitment of local NHS staff and volunteers over the last 12 months , with more than 130 team or individual nominations, it was a fabulous evening .
Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley was delighted to sponsor The Community Care Team award and Amy McEvoy, Care Manager at Home Instead, had the great pleasure to go on stage and announce the shortlisted teams; Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service and Skelmersdale Walk-in Centre and the eventual winners Wheelchair Services based in West Pimbo, Skelmersdale .
Amy goes on to say ' it was a lovely evening and an excellent opportunity to recognise all our local NHS Hero's who have delivered an outstanding service over the last 12 months, the Motor Neurone Disease Association was so impressed recently that it chose to visit and benchmark wheelchair services, as a model for good practice'.
The awards evening concluded with music and dance , sadly there could only be seven outright winners on the evening, but in our eyes at Home Instead all the nominees , individuals and teams were winners on the evening and they are a credit to the NHS .
