When the pandemic hit, Brendoncare choir went virtual! Thanks to a grant to purchase tablets devices from our charity, the signing can carry on into 2021. Watch this this chorister’s story, or scroll down to keep reading
“When I was first contacted about singing on the virtual club, I panicked, because I thought, “I can’t do that! I can’t do that! I don’t know how to do it!”
But fortunately my friend Sara at the headquarters showed me how to do a Zoom call and even though I was slow, I did get there, and I attended the first meeting, and I believe that was a great learning curve for me. But I was pleased that I’d done it, and I challenged myself to do different things because you’ve got to when you live on your own.
Singing, I have found so valuable in lifting mood and getting that sense of community spirit with other people and that always leaves me feeling on a high. I just love it, love it, love it. It doesn’t matter if you’re flat or sharp, you just sing your heart out. I just pity the people in the flat above me!
I would like to thank the funders of the groups because that does make such a difference to our lives, being able to be in contact with each other; otherwise there would have been a black hole.“
