Celebrating 10 Years of Dementia Friendly Morning Matinees
This February marks a very special milestone at Everyman Cinema, Winchester, as we celebrate 10 years of Dementia Friendly Morning Matinees.
For the past decade, Everyman Winchester has generously supported these monthly screenings, helping to create a welcoming, relaxed, and inclusive cinema experience for people living with dementia, their carers, family members, and friends. Thanks to their continued support – and the incredible commitment of volunteers – thousands of pounds have been raised for Dementia Friendly Winchester over the years.
About Dementia Friendly Winchester
Dementia Friendly Winchester is a local charity dedicated to supporting people affected by dementia across our community. The charity works to reduce isolation, raise awareness, and promote understanding, ensuring that Winchester remains a place where people living with dementia feel supported, valued, and included. Funds raised through events like the morning matinees help sustain vital activities, outreach, and support services throughout the year.
Join Us for the Anniversary Celebration
We’ll be celebrating this fantastic achievement on Wednesday, 4th February, where we’ll be showing a special film to mark the occasion. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone – please do come along and say hello!
We’re also delighted to share that the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Sudhakar Achwal, will be joining us for the celebration, making this anniversary even more meaningful.

Morning Matinee Details
Our Dementia Friendly Morning Matinees take place:
- On the first Wednesday of every month
- 10:15am arrival time for a 10:45am start
- Free entry
- Free tea, coffee, and popcorn
Everyone is welcome, and the relaxed environment ensures that guests can enjoy the film comfortably and without pressure.
Movies for the Year
