Companionship care is what we have built our reputation on. Many of our clients at Home Instead Cannock and Burntwood do not need any hands on care. They may have family who live a distance away and they just require someone who can take them to the garden centre in Great Wyrley for a coffee or to the farm shop in Burntwood to get some fresh veg and sit for bacon sandwich or slice of cake. Our care professionals love nothing more than taking clients out in the community, sharing convivial conversation and perhaps some shared interests.

Our families love to read in our notes what a lovely time their loved one has had. There may be occasions that we can take people to, sometimes we might take clients to do their weekly shop and it becomes fun trying to select the menu for the week and then going home and cooking up a tasty meal. Often there are pet pooches who might need a walk because their owner is no longer able and this is something we are only too happy to accommodate.
What we do to care for your loved ones
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of a unique mix of services to meet your needs.

Home Instead (Cannock) provide care and support to our mother. Their support is invaluable to us as a family. Their attention to detail is everything you could ask for. My sister lives in Yorkshire and I continue to nurse, we cannot praise this company enough for giving us back peace of mind knowing each day a caring friendly face is not only looking after Mom but also taking the stress off our father. Through the app on our phones, we are able to check each day who has been in to see Mom, which is very reassuring. Every member of the team has taken the time to get to know our parents, sharing snippets of their own lives which both our parents value and enjoy. we receive weekly notification of who will be visiting our parents the following week. We would also like to say a huge thank you to the office staff who are so caring and professional. - What does a companion do?
Primarily our Care Professionals are there to listen and interact with our clients, providing them with a trusted, friendly face that can ease the feelings of isolation and loneliness you or your loved one may feel.
- When should I or my loved one consider companionship care?
Older adults living alone won’t always need companionship care, it is often most beneficial for individuals who require more social interaction or feel isolated from friends and family.
- How often should I have companionship calls at home?
When you or your loved one need different care and support such as personal care, we will meet with you to ensure you get the support that you need from your Care Professional.
