New Activity & Social Group for older people launches in Brighouse

Home Instead’s new monthly Activity & Social Group takes place every third Thursday in the month from 16th November at the popular and centrally located Brighouse Rest Centre.

Each session runs from 2pm to 4pm and will help older people to get together, socialise and have fun playing Boccia (indoor bowls using leather balls), Cornhole (with bean bags) and board games.  For those who just want to watch or talk, there is space and opportunity for that too.

The sessions are run by Home Instead in partnership with Re-engage the befriending charity for older people and there is no entry fee.

Whether you want to play Boccia, Cornhole, board games or just join us for a cuppa and a chat, you will be given a warm welcome.

When: 3rd Thursday in the month – 21st December, 18th January, 15th February, 21st March, 18th April and more dates to follow.

Where: Brighouse Rest Centre, Park Row, Brighouse HD6 1AB.

What: Boccia*, Cornhole, board games, conversation and refreshments.

* Boccia is a Para-Olympic sport and can be played by anyone, seated or standing and whatever their level of fitness, age or ability.
