Our Christmas Santa-gram Campaign delivered again in December!

In December we brought some Christmas cheer to to elderly and lonely people in Calderdale by delivering cards created by local school children.

The Santa-grams were delivered to the elderly along with presents from charity Santa's Seniors.

Santa-grams are Christmas cards and pictures created by local school children. In December we collected 400 Santa-grams from Greetland Academy (pictured) and All Saints C E School in Skircoat Green.

The Santa-grams were delivered to elderly people via the stroke and discharge wards at Calderdale Royal Hospital, Calderdale Inpatient Therapy and Discharge Unit and the Urgent Community Response Team based at Dean Clough, Halifax. We also took along presents kindly donated by the charity Santa’s Seniors.  A number of pharmacies and dementia groups also got involved in delivering the Santa-grams.

Here’s what people said about our 2025 Santa-gram Campaign:

“My mum received a Santa-gram, she goes to Rimani House, which she really loved. I think it’s a brilliant idea and one way to bridge the gap between the oldies and the young. The care which was taken to draw and colour in the designs was fantastic and would like to say a big thank you to the pupils/schools involved.”

“We received a Santagram from Greetland Academy. We were very pleased to receive it and have written a note to the school thanking them. Thank you for organising it.”

“Thank you very much for your Christmas Santa-gram messages and pictures. I have described them to Neil who is totally blind and 77 years of age. He says its really good that school children care about older people at Christmas. It has really cheered him up.”

We’d like to thank all the school children and teachers involved along with charity Santa’s Seniors for their kind donations.  We look forward to another successful campaign next Christmas.
