In our Thanet community, it’s estimated that around 6,000 to 6,500 people are currently living with or recovering from cancer. Approximately 1 in every 22 people in the UK has received a cancer diagnosis. Thanet’s older population means the local prevalence may be slightly higher than the national average. These numbers highlight the importance of accessible, compassionate care and support services for those affected — from treatment and recovery to emotional wellbeing and daily living assistance.
