We’re Talking About Choking… (Yes, Really!)

This week, we’ve stepped things up by increasing our choking awareness training across the team – because let’s be honest…

Can you believe how many people don’t actually know what to do when someone is choking?

It’s one of those things you think you know… until you’re in the moment. And in care, those moments really matter. So we said — let’s make sure everyone knows exactly what to do.

Introducing… the Choking Vest!

Now this is where things got interesting.

We’ve invested in a choking vest, and honestly… it’s been a game changer.

We had our Care Professionals wearing the vest during training, which meant everyone could:

• Learn exactly where to give back blows
• Understand the right technique
• Build real confidence in a safe environment

And yes… it did involve a lot of “no, not there — here!!” moments. But that’s exactly what makes it stick — hands-on learning that you don’t forget.

A big warm welcome to Nurit, one of our newest Care Professionals!

Nurit jumped straight into training and brought such a positive, can-do attitude — we love to see it. It’s always amazing when new team members embrace learning from day one.

While choking response is a serious topic, this week proved something important…The best learning happens when you’re having fun too. 

There were plenty of laughs in the office, lots of teamwork, and a real sense of everyone supporting each other to get it right.

And at the end of the day, that’s what we’re all about: building confidence, building skills, and keeping our clients safe.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just training, this is life-saving knowledge.

Every Care Professional now feels more confident stepping into a situation where quick action is needed. And that reassurance? It means everything.
