Home Instead UK's Dementia Bus Experience is coming to our Brighton office!

We're thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting Training2Care's innovative Dementia Bus Experience at our office in Portslade on Tuesday 29th July 2025.

A green Renault van branded with "Home Instead" and "Virtual Dementia Tour" is parked in a wooded area. The side of the van features large promotional graphics for the "Autism Reality Experience" and "Virtual Dementia Tour," including images of people wearing sensory simulation gear. The van displays logos for partner organizations such as "training2care" and has the registration plate FX72 CGZ. The setting sun filters through the trees in the background, creating a warm atmosphere.

At Home Instead Brighton, Hove and Shoreham, we believe that understanding leads to compassion, and compassion builds stronger communities.

The Dementia Bus Experience isn’t your typical awareness session. This immersive, mobile experience has been designed to give participants a genuine insight into the daily challenges faced by those living with dementia. Through carefully crafted scenarios and interactive elements, visitors step into the shoes of someone navigating life with this diagnosis, creating empathy and understanding in a way that traditional presentations simply cannot achieve.

What makes this experience special?

Using cutting-edge technology and thoughtfully designed environments, the Dementia Bus provided sessions provided by Training2Care create realistic situations that help participants understand:

  • The sensory changes that can occur with dementia
  • How familiar environments might feel confusing or overwhelming
  • The emotional impact of memory loss and disorientation
  • The importance of patience, understanding, and appropriate support

Our team has witnessed firsthand how this experience transforms perspectives. Participants often leave with a deeper appreciation for the daily courage shown by those living with dementia and their families.

As a local home care provider specialising in dementia care, we see every day how understanding and compassion can transform lives. When communities are better informed about dementia, it creates an environment where those affected feel supported, valued, and included rather than isolated or misunderstood.

Every person who experiences the Dementia Bus becomes an advocate for understanding, carrying that knowledge into their daily interactions and helping to create a more dementia-friendly community across Brighton, Hove, and Shoreham.
