Family Carer Dementia Workshops, come back soon for the next release of dates early in 2024

With over 13 years experience in supporting both individuals living independently with Dementia, as well as working with families and their support networks, both on a practical and emotional level, local homecare organisation Home Instead truly understand and know the challenges that family carers face.

Starting In October, Home Instead are running a series of three, two-hour workshops at our second office at Weston Park. The workshops are aimed at those living with, or supporting a loved one, who is living with Dementia..

The programme is a combination of information, practical advice and guidance, as well as an opportunity to be with others who are in the same situation. The workshops will cover the following areas

Understanding Dementia – An overview of the different types of dementia.
Capturing Life’s Journey – Identifying the values, experiences, and expectations of their loved one.
Techniques to manage behaviour – Practical examples and guidance.
Activities to encourage engagement – Living in the moment all achievements, no matter how small they may appear to be.
