Located in the heart of the shopping district in Braintree, This cafe is independently owned and run and has a great choice of speciality coffees, teas, smoothies and is famous for it’s many toasted sandwich specials. And there is a sister Toast in Sudbury town centre too!
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there is always a “happy” buzz here, where quality coffee and food is always guaranteed. There are also few “surprise” specialities for the adventurous!

The Bocking Hall Cafe

This Bocking Hall Cafe is a 100% outdoor café come rain or shine, seven days a week and located in the now disused Rayne Railway Station.There is a canopy that covers part of the platform with seating and the carriage which is opened. This is an great find for anyone looking to surprise their elderly friends in a out of the way leafy venue. The food is high quality and especially the cakes and desserts and the afternoon tea can even be ordered for home delivery! Tiptree Tearooms at The Barns  offers the unique opportunity to savour the delicious lunches and afternoon teas offered by this famous Essex Jam making company. Located amongst the 13th century Knight Templar Cressing Temple Barns, this is a gem of a place to bring your elderly relatives or friends and sure to impress them no end. You can also visit the Tudor walled gardens before retiring to these famous tea rooms for a spot of lunch or afternoon tea.

Coffee House in the Gardens is situated in the gatekeeper’s cottage in the Braintree & Bocking Public Gardens. Run by Rachel, the coffee house has increasingly become a community hub, hosting weekly Meet up Mondays session, as well as supporting the park’s many events. There is a distinct focus on quality ingredients hand selected by Rachel and often sourced locally. The café is on the doorstep of the busy town of Braintree while basking in the eminence of this beautifully stocked public garden which boasts tennis courts, playground, thatched bandstand and a Wildlife Hide.
