Jacky Thompson Speaks Out for Home Instead

Jacky Thompson one of our caregivers here in Barnet gave a talk to the Trinity Women, a local women’s church group.  Jacky talked about her experiences of being a caregiver and her insights into caring for people living with dementia.  Jacky has been with us since 2010 and in that time has completed our Alzheimer’s training and is working on her QCF’s.  We are all proud of Jacky and hope this is the beginning of her public speaking career!

After the talk we received this message from one of the audience:

Earlier this evening I was at my Church attending our monthly women's group ( Trinity Women). The speaker was one of your Caregivers, Jacky Thompson.

The talk was absolutely fascinating. It was informative and presented in such an interesting way with excerpts from her working and personal life, about the care and understanding, particularly, of those with dementia.

It certainly gave me an insight to the role of a Caregiver and the 'demands and needs' of the clients.

I have nothing but admiration for the work that Jacky does. Her enthusiasm and dedication was prevalent throughout her talk.

Your philosophy of caring for people in their own homes is a wonderful one.

I would also like to thank you for the literature you provided along with the 'goodie bag' it was a lovely touch.

Best Regards

G Smith
