Home Instead Senior Care in Barnet has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Home Care category for the prestigious Laing and Buisson Independent Specialist Care Awards.
The Home Care award is given to the individual or team which shows excellence in delivering high quality, responsive, reliable and personalised home care services to adults with learning or physical disabilities or mental health problems including dementia at a cost which is acceptable to the customer.
As specialists in providing care for elderly people, many of whom are living with dementia, Home Instead’s submission focused on their work providing specialised care for people living with dementia.
Commenting on the nomination, Dale Bevington, who owns and runs Home Instead Senior Care in Barnet said, “It is such a privilege to be selected as a finalist for this award. There was stiff competition so we are thrilled to have been successful. Not only is the role that we play in delivering care extremely rewarding, I am so pleased that the whole team’s hard work has been externally recognised.”
The team in Barnet receive specialist Alzheimer’s training to enable them to give the best support. Caregivers and clients are matched following meetings with clients and their family members. They also ensure that, holidays and illness permitting, clients have the same caregiver for each visit. This is particularly important for people with dementia as strong bonds are formed, giving reassurance.
The company also has special support meetings for caregivers assisting clients living with dementia.
Everyone at Home Instead Senior Care now has their fingers crossed for the announcement of the winner at the Gala Dinner which is to be held in March.
