The Great London Care Awards winners were announced at a gala presentation evening on Saturday October 22. This year Home Instead Barnet were proud to have four finalists for the event so tension was high for us.
On the evening our own Mary Hayes won the Home Care Worker 2011 Award! She is pictured above (centre) with her award which was presented to her by Jason Claydon (Towergate Patrick) and Debra Stephenson, TV personality and award presenter for the evening. The Home Care Worker award recognises the significant role of the Home Care Worker in consistently providing a high quality standard, for people living in their own homes. Evidence of dedication, awareness of colleagues and career development through training were important elements for the judges. Mary will now be considered along with other regional winners for the National Great British Care Awards.
We are delighted that our four finalists achieved the recognition they clearly deserve. As well as Mary, we had Andrew Fleet as a finalist for the New Comer Award, Liz Gullen a finalist for the Dementia Care Award and Marilyn Everitt-Drew for the Care Trainer Award. All of our finalists have shown great dedication, making a difference to the lives of their clients and colleagues.
