This year the Alzheimers Society Barnet had their summer BBQ at the new home for the Marillac Centre at the Stepping Stones next to Edgware Hospital. An absolutely beautiful day for the event and to top everything off a great trio provided music for dancing.
I was invited to act as chef for the event, possibly a risky choice, but I really enjoyed doing it.
The Marillac Centre is a fantastic community asset in Barnet. Managed by Margaret Dempsey and her experienced staff provide a range of services for people living with Dementia. The centre is a real life line for families and their loved ones.
The Alzheimers Society in Barnet provides advice, support groups, carers group and the very popular Singing for the Brain groups. For more information do look at their website http://www. alzheimers.org.uk/barnet or ring on 0208 937 7171.
