Celebrating 10 Years of Caring in Norwich

On the 1st February 2010 my wife Akie and I opened the doors of Home Instead Norwich. Following mixed experiences of care provided for elderly relatives in Birmingham, we were excited about the prospect of providing quality relationship-led care in Norwich. We were also somewhat daunted at stepping into the great unknown of starting a new business with our first child just 18 months old and the roof over our heads depending on us being successful.

Fast forward to 1st February 2020 and we are celebrating 10 years of providing quality, relationship-led care to over 1000 families in Norwich and creating many life enhancing career opportunities for staff. It has been an incredible journey with many joys and many difficulties. Our first child is now at high school and he has two brothers. Fortunately we have also managed to keep the roof over our heads!

Over the past 10 years I have had the pleasure of meeting many inspiring clients, families, members of staff and selfless people working hard to enrich their community and look after others. It's been an emotional journey with the excitement of winning national awards, and the sadness of losing great friends, the nature of caring for the elderly.

I look forward to the next 10 years and the joys and challenges they will bring. On behalf of Akie and myself I'd like to thank all of our clients and their families for the trust you've placed in us to care for you and those dearest to you; and our staff for the trust you’ve placed in us to support you in your work. It's a privilege to be able to serve in this way.

Best wishes from

Chris & Akie
