This year's Be a Santa to a Senior Xmas appeal has been launched bringing Xmas cheer to many older people in the community.  Last year, the Sale and Altrincham office of Home Instead Senior Care launched the 'Be a Santa to a Senior' gift giving scheme & led the country by collecting over 400 presents, all kindly donated by members of the public.  The donated presents were then overwhelmingly well received by older members of the public who were touched that locals had thought about them.

The 'Be a Santa to a Senior' scheme works by using the gift tag (printed on the leaflet) and bringing the donated present (no need to wrap we’ll do that for you)  to the collection point at the Sale Square Mile Community Open Day on the 7th Dec (10.30-3pm) at St Paul's Church Hall in Sale.  You can also contact Home Instead on 0161-870-1136 to arrange collection or drop your present off at Sale Sainsbury's customer service desk.

As well as collecting presents at the Open Day, there will also be a range of local charities, voluntary groups, businesses, churches & medical organisations who will be raising awareness of their community activities and selling gifts.

Alan Savage from Home Instead said, "The appeal raises awareness of a very important issue that many older people can become isolated in the community through bereavement & ill health."

The presents are given with cards made by local school children & this year will include our Whats on Where guide full of information on community activities that older people can enjoy and get involved in.'
