Award winning! A Moment We'll Never Forget!

Delighted to have won the Community Impact Award, we look back at a very special moment for our team and celebrate the community connections we've been building since 2010.

Lucy Gill and Alan Savage reflect on winning the Community Impact Award 2026.

What a night, and what a moment!

Hearing Home Instead Altrincham, Sale & Wythenshawe announced as the winner of the Community Impact Award at the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2026 was something we’ll never forget.

Presented by Geraldine Jackson from Altrincham FC, and sponsored by Altrincham FC and Sale Sharks, the award recognises businesses making a real difference in their local communities.

For Alan and me, it was particularly special because supporting our community has been part of who we are since we opened our doors back in 2010.

It all started with listening...

When Alan and I first started visiting local clubs, groups and community organisations, we were amazed by the wonderful activities happening right on our doorstep.

But we kept hearing the same thing. Many of these groups were run by dedicated volunteers who simply didn’t have the time, resources or experience to promote themselves. And if people didn’t know these groups existed, how could they join in?

So, in 2013, we decided to help.

What began as a simple leaflet listing local activities gradually grew into our free What’s on Where (WOW) Guide.

Over the years, it’s developed into a much bigger community resource, alongside our Live Well Your Way magazine, Facebook community and online articles, all with one simple aim: helping people over 55 discover what’s happening locally, make new connections and enjoy later life.

More than just care at home

Of course, providing personalised care at home is at the heart of our business, but we’ve always believed that living well is about so much more.

It’s about friendships, feeling part of something, maintaining independence and having things to look forward to.

Our Living Well with Dementia events, community calendar and other local initiatives have grown from that same belief: bringing people together, sharing knowledge and helping families find the support they need.

And none of this would be possible without the incredible local organisations, volunteers and community groups who give so much of their time.

A celebration of our wonderful team

One of the loveliest parts of the evening was being able to share it with members of our team, including some of our fantastic Care Professionals, who were attending an awards evening like this for the very first time.

Seeing everyone so excited, and so proud of what we’ve achieved together, was genuinely wonderful.

Because while Alan and I may have started the business, it’s our team who bring our values to life every single day.

A huge thank you to the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce, Altrincham FC and Sale Sharks for recognising the importance of community involvement.

And to every volunteer, community organisation, colleague and supporter who has been part of our journey, thank you.

We never set out to win awards. We simply wanted to make a difference in the communities we care so much about.

Sixteen years on, that’s still what drives us.

Lucy & Alan ❤️
