This week Alan and Michelle held a workshop with the staff at the Natwest bank on School Road, to discuss how they can help their customers, particularly those that struggle due to memory loss from having dementia.
Malcolm Smith, manager at Natwest, said 'many of the staff have worked here for years & know the customers very well. They can see that some are starting to struggle, often due to fraility & their memory but also bereavement can mean customers are having to start managing their banking at a very late age. The team are great at looking out for any issues & are very understanding & patient. If anyone asks for help then they always go the extra mile.'
Alan Savage, Manager at Home Instead added 'the workshop was invaluble to hear how the staff at the branch value & look after their customers. We will use this information to enhance the dementia awareness training we will be providing to other organisations. When our CAREGivers take people out shopping it is great to see how retail organisations, like the Natwest, providing great customer service that means those with dementia find the experience enabling & stimulating. All the staff at the Natwest should be very proud of themselves & we look forward to meeting other similar organisations in Sale Town Centre.'
