Owners of local at-home care company Home Instead Senior Care have brought together around 50 members of the local community this week, is a bid to better the care and wellbeing of senior people living in the Altrincham area.

With so many negative stories about senior care, Alan Savage and Lucy Gill, owners of Home Instead Senior Care in Altrincham, decided to hold a community forum to promote a positive vision of collaborative care.

This forum took place on 15th November in Hale, and welcomed representatives from several influential organisations from the local community to share knowledge and resources about the care that is available to older people living in the Altrincham area.

Talks were delivered by representatives from: The Federation of Jewish Services, Spire Healthcare, Parkinson's Society and Home Instead Senior Care.

This was the sixth event of the series arranged by Alan and Lucy. Their Community Care Forums have now reached out to over 230 local people to network, share information about their own businesses and services and unite with others to strengthen the services available for older people.

David Hennessy, an attendee from Hidden Hearing commented: "The forum was fantastic. It is great to be able to attend a community conscious event which allows for information gathering that will hopefully have a positive impact on our community.”

Home Instead owners Alan Savage and Lucy Gill commented, “Professionals from so many different sectors come into contact with the older generation, it is important for the community to share knowledge and resources when it comes to issues that may be affecting this age group. The event was a great success and we are already looking forward to planning more community forums in the new year.”

As one of the UK’s leading at-home care providers, Home Instead prides itself on providing flexible services to individual clients and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Community Connecting with Care Forum is free to attend and Alan and Lucy would welcome new faces for their upcoming events in 2012. To find out more, please contact Lucy Gill on: 07841 582372
