“A caring club” Senior Citizens Sailing Club Sale

Last week Liz was out and about in our Sale community and enjoyed meeting the lovely people of the Senior Citizens Sailing Club (SCSC) at Sale Waterpark, Sale Moor.

Running successfully for around 27 years, the group meets twice weekly throughout the year, on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm at the edge of Sale Waterpark.  With around 30 current members, the SCSC are always interested in hearing from new people; the criteria for joining is simply that you must be retired or semi-retired and preferably should have some sailing experience.

Liz enjoyed a very warm welcome from Phil Grundy, Chairman and Brian Hall, Secretary (pictured) and was delighted the group would like to be featured in the next edition of the ever popular What’s on Where (WOW) guide due to be published again by Home Instead Altrincham in the New Year to see the current guide visit the Information and Resources page.

Depending on the weather and sailing conditions, then the SCSC will either be out on the water (pictured) or simply enjoying a cuppa and chat inside in the warm, putting the world to rights!  If you have a keen interest in sailing and would enjoy sharing the experience with a group of very friendly, like-minded individuals, then do get in touch with Phil Grundy for more information.
