Home Instead Westminster to share best practice about Dementia support with visitors from Japan

Last week we had the visit of Dr Mayumi Hayashi research fellow from Kings College London and Professor Satoru Hashimoto from Kwansai University.

With over 5 million people living with Dementia in Japan, it is definitely a burning platform and Japanese people regard Dementia as their own destiny.

Professor Hashimoto and Doctor Hayashi were particularly interested in our Home Instead relationship led model and how we improve the social wellbeing of our client thanks to our highly qualified, caring and compassionate caregivers who use their initiative and creativity to improve the quality of life of their client.

On our side we were impressed by an initiative that allow people with Dementia to act as citizen by having an adapted job in the community like in Fujosawa city near Tokyo where people work in a sweet shop.

We promised to keep regular contact.
