Frances Hargreaves, a Client of at-home care company Home Instead Senior Care celebrated her 105th birthday on 31st March 2012.
Born in Edwardian Britain in 1907, Frances has lived through two world wars and many changes. She has seen inventions such as the jet engine, space flight, air travel and computers and mobile phones. Whilst we now live in a technological age, Frances puts her age down to simple living, that and a sherry each night!
Frances started her day as normal with support from her regular CAREGiver Joanne. She had visitors throughout the day including her Granddaughter Judie, as well as neighbours and friends. Following a busy weekend, Frances received more visits on the Monday from a number of CAREGivers who support her as well as David Moore, Managing Director and Michele Bushell, Care Manager to convey their best wishes. Michele presented Frances with flowers and made her a special lunch. Frances received many cards but was proud to display the card received from the Queen.
David Moore said; “This is a fantastic achievement, and with our help I am sure Frances will have many more birthdays. She is such a positive person.” Frances commented; “I am not sure what all the fuss is about, but it is nice to have so many people visiting. It is lovely that with the support I get from my regular CAREGivers, I can stay living at home.”
