Dance To Fight Dementia!

Our very own team member, Laura Costello, recently organised a fantastic "Dance to Fight Dementia" after seeing its effects first hand.

Laura's Mum Barbara has been coping with the condition for the last eight years and Laura has been keen to raise awareness and give support for people who have the devastating condition.

Laura says "Mum lives with dementia at Parkhill Nursing Home and has been there for the past 18 months. It's difficult but she's happy. I just think that as long as she is happy, so am I."

The event saw around 150 people don their dancing shoes and dance the night away for over four hours - only stopping for a toilet break or to choose their raffle prize! There were almost 40 prizes in the raffle, including vouchers, gift sets, a caravan break, a signed Bernado Silva City shirt and 2 star prizes of luxury return chauffeur driven travel!

This is the second time Laura has organised this event, but this one was bigger and better, raising a massive £2,400 for Dementia UK.

We here at Home Instead Oldham & Saddleworth are very proud of Laura for organising such a fantastic event, and for raising such an amazing amount of money for Dementia UK.
