Community Brew Sessions are a treat at the Satellite Centre

Community Brew sessions at the Satellite Centre in Greenfield are going down a treat with the residents of Saddleworth and the surrounding areas.

The sessions are held on the second Monday of each month from 10.30am-12pm, offering tea, coffee, homemade cakes and biscuits, along with a friendly chat.

Led and co-ordinated by Liz Rooke, who is helped by Christine Wilson (OMBC Community Development Manager) Jane Bevan (The Satellite Centres Body Mind and Well Being Project Officer) and volunteers from Street Scene Greenfield - Community Brew raises money each month to support a different charitable cause. These include Action Together, The Satellite Centre, Marie Curie, Oldham Mountain Rescue, Francis House Childrens Hospice, Oldham Diabetes Voluntary Support Group, Friendship Friday for the visually impaired, Parkinsons, Macmillan Cancer Support, Bright Futures School, GGRA Street Scene and our very own Santa to a Senior Campaign in December.  Funds are raised by a £2.50 entry charge and a raffle with a generous range of prizes from donations.

We here at Home Instead Senior Care Oldham & Saddleworth are proud to support the event every month, by supplying the tea and coffee, producing the publicity posters and helping out on the day.

Last year Community Brew raised £1760 for local and national charities, and are hoping to continue with that success in 2019.
