Emma-Jayne Wilson from at home care company, Home Instead Senior Care has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Motivational Leader category of the 2017 Norfolk Care Awards.

The Norfolk Care Awards showcase those committed to delivering excellent quality care and support services for people across Norfolk.

Emma 39, who lives in the Earlham area of Norwich was promoted to CAREGiver Training and Support Lead in 2016 after previously working as a CAREGiver. A deserving finalist, Emma is a natural when it comes to leadership and motivating a team.

Each year Home Instead takes part in a staff and client survey, Emma championed this cause and created a superhero theme to encourage staff to participate. She motivated 84% of Home Instead’s community based caregivers to visit the office and complete the survey. Many of the staff had their photo’s taken in a life size superhero photo booth created by Emma’s family.

Emma provides unwavering support to her colleagues through training, support meetings and in home visits. This helps CAREGivers learn and develop their skills to provide outstanding levels of care to all their clients. Committed to helping all of those in her local community, Emma motivated a team of 25 staff, to complete the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk in Earlham Park last year, raising over £500 for the charity.

Chris Carter, owner of Home Instead in Norwich commented, “Emma has a talent and passion for motivating everyone around her. Through organising events and mentoring new and existing CAREGivers she has created a strong sense of community here at Home Instead. Emma makes our team feel valued and supported, whilst continuing to help their learning and development, to ensure our CAREGivers provide an outstanding level of care.”
