New South Warwickshire business to create 30 jobs

A business specialising in providing care for older people in their own homes has opened in Stratford and is looking to create 30 jobs in the coming year.

The company, Home Instead Senior Care, is part of a national network recognised as one of the UK’s leading in home care organisations. Home Instead is being set up locally by business partners Phil Maundrill 52 and Phil Wright-Howarth 50.

Their philosophy is simple, to provide a service which will enable older people to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible while improving their quality of life.

The pair have many years’ experience in the commercial sector and met whilst working together at Rank Hovis McDougall. Apart from sharing a common business background, both men have experienced the need to find care for a family member and it was the difficulty they both had finding the right sort of care which led them to set up a business in the care sector.

Commenting, Phil Maundrill said: ‘‘Having had to find care for my elderly mother I fully understand the importance of providing quality care in the home, which is where most people wish to remain for as long as possible.

“The service we provide looks after the individual’s physical as well as emotional needs, providing companionship, interaction and stimulation and this is exactly what our elderly community needs. Our care is tailored to the needs of each individual and we can make a real difference to the quality of life of not only our clients, but their families too.”

Home Instead services include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medications; home help covering all aspects of day-to-day housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties plus companionship services that can involve everything from escorting clients to appointments through to simple conversation and good company.

The two Phils are now keen to talk to local people with compassionate and caring natures who are interested in working with older people. Commenting on the Home Instead service, Phil Wright-Howarth said: “The way in which we operate is unique and this allows us to offer a different working environment for our caregivers. For example, we carefully match clients and caregivers by looking for common areas of interest or life experience so that there is an immediate connection.

“We need local people to come forward and be part of our team. We will only employ people who are absolutely committed to making a difference, treating our clients with dignity and respect and working to the highest professional standards.’’

The new Home Instead Senior Care office will provide care for people living in the Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Warwick and Kenilworth areas. For more information please visit www.homeinstead.co.uk/warwickshire or call 01789 20 40 40.
