Double Outstanding for company brings jobs boost

Home Instead Windsor, Runnymede & West Spelthorne has scored an ‘Outstanding’ rating for the second consecutive time.

The office first opened its doors in 2011 by Anitra Camargo and received its first Outstanding rating in 2017. Anitra has dedicated her life to helping others in the local community and said of the report, “The team is so pleased to have been recognised as Outstanding for the hard work we do for people in the community. To have achieved this once is amazing, but two times in a row is just out of this world. I am so proud.”

Anitra’s supportive style of management has enabled her to create a team of highly motivated staff who are proud to work for the company. One member of the team said, “We really care, from Anitra to our managers down to all the staff, I feel our strength is in our recruitment and matching. We always go the extra mile for our clients, and this enables us to deliver great work.”

When looking at the effectiveness of the service, inspectors found that ‘people’s outcomes were consistently better than expected compared to similar services.’ People’s feedback described Home Instead as ‘exceptional and distinctive.’

Training and support second to none

Inspectors also noticed how Home Instead recognise the needs of relatives as well as staff when it comes to understanding conditions such as dementia. In one example detailed in the report, there was strong evidence of how Home Instead developed dementia specific training for relatives of people living with dementia.

The positive impact the training had on the family members was clear and one relative said, “It helped me understand what was going on for dad. Home Instead arranged a training session for the whole family. It helped us an awful lot. Everyone came away saying they had a better understanding which made our journey easier.”

Healthcare professionals also praised the service for being ‘innovative and having a positive impact on people’s health and well-being’. One healthcare professional said, “Home Instead made such an effort to support us in developing personalised care for this person. The care provided was consistent and continually re-assessed. What they do is a combination of getting people well, getting people home whist ensuring care is personalised.”

Anitra added: “Our passion is to care for others. We know that people feel the happiest at home and we do everything we can to make sure our clients can enjoy their later years where so many of their lifetime memories are made.”
