Home Instead Senior Care Guildford & Woking has a 2 week (employed) ‘couples’ Live-in placement from the 12th October until the 26th October in West Byfleet, Surrey, which is close to the M25 and local amenities.

During the placement, you will have your own double bedroom and en-suite bathroom on the third floor along with the use of a beautiful garden.

The clients house is roughly a ten minute walk from West Byfleet train station. Should you wish to visit Woking town centre by train, the journey is roughly 5-10 minutes.

Live-in duties could include, but are not limited to:

  • Dementia care
  • Personal care - washing, bathing, dressing, toileting and changing a catheter bag
  • Light housework - laundry, ironing, shopping, hoovering, meal preparation
  • Support with overall wellbeing and independence
  • Assisting / prompting medication
  • Companionship
  • Daily exercise

Ideally you will have 1 years’ experience as a live-in carer, drivers with own car (Business cover insurance required) desirable but not essential, an update service DBS ( DBS application will need to be completed if not.)

What we ask of you:

  • Excellent level of English - spoken and written
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in Live-in care

Care Coordinating can be very demanding, so you will need to have good organisational skills; an eye for detail; the ability to work well under pressure and communicate well with our clients and CAREGivers.

To gain necessary experience and knowledge of this fast paced role you will work closely under the guidance and support of the Care Co-ordination Manager and team learning our scheduling system (People Planner etc.), process of allocation of client to CAREGiver and other scheduling duties.

Role Responsibility:

·         Support the Care Coordinating team with the allocation of hours (1200+ care visits per week) and respond efficiently to unexpected changes.
·         Support with the allocation of unallocated visits promptly.
·         Creating a recurring rota under the supervision of the Care Coordinating Manager for clients and CAREGivers.
·         Be the duty ‘out of hours’ support on the weekend.

·         Communicate with CAREGivers, clients and office staff through a variety of different methods
·         Support the management of People Planner (our IM System)

A unique ‘companionship’ Live-in CAREGIver placement has arisen in the beautiful and quiet area of Hook Heath in Surrey.

Our active client is a social butterfly who enjoys the finer things in life such as going out to lunch, shopping, visiting country markets, chatting over coffee and cake, reading, cooking, catching up with friends, visiting and exploring the local community and attending her local Catholic Church.

It’s really important for our client to remain as independent as possible and she wishes to continue doing all the things she enjoys. As such, the live-in CAREGiver must be a driver and (preferably) have their own car to use during placement. Off-street parking is available.

Our female client values her privacy but may need ‘stand-by support’ with some personal care tasks.

This placement is for approximately 11 months (6 weeks on / 2 weeks off) with the possibility of this being extended.

During the placement, you will have use of your own double bedroom and bathroom along with the use of a beautiful garden.  Even though this placement is in a quiet, leafy part of Woking, you will be a short walking distance form local amenities and just a five minute drive from the town centre.

Live-in duties could include, but not limited to:

  • Personal care- washing, bathing, dressing and toileting
  • Light housework- laundry, ironing, shopping, hoovering, meal preparations
  • Support with overall well-being and independency

Some of our weekend CAREGivers enjoy spending time with their own family, once they’ve tucked their loved ones in to bed, they then pop out for a few hours in the evening to support their local community with their evening routines.

Job Duties of an Evening CAREGiver

 

  • Personal Care – Support clients with their care needs in line with their individual care plan. This may include assisting with personal care as required by the individual. e.g. dressing / undressing, bathing / showering, dental hygiene, assistance with toileting.
  • Companionship – Build professional relationships with clients assisting with their emotional, social and spiritual needs whilst encouraging independence and choice.
  • Daily Living – Assist clients with going about their daily life, from support with medication, or preparing meals, to helping keep well. e.g. prompting / administering medication, meal planning and preparation, assistance with eating and drinking etc.
