Career in Care

On the 3rd April 2019, Home Instead – Greenwich & Bexley exhibited and presented Home Instead at the ‘Careers in Care’ event at the Woolwich Job Centre. The aim of the event was to introduce people of different background to the field of care, and show them how ‘every day is different when you work in care’. Seven different care companies, including Home Instead, presented various opportunities people have within the care sector, from child care to adult care and caring for people with different abilities.  The employees were given the opportunity to talk to the employers 1 on 1, after their presentation; there were over 60 participants.

On behalf of Home Instead, Sneha presented and highlighted ethos and culture of the company and how we provide companionship-led, person-centered care to older people in their own homes. She also touch-based on how negative press alienates and discourages some people before even considering a career in care. Home Instead focuses in uplifting and changing the perception of care work. For the last two years, we have been running a very successful campaign called #youcancare, where by our strong network of 200 Home Instead office came together during the #youcancare week and highlighted that working as a CAREGiver can be an extremely rewarding profession.

At the event, our Community Coordinator, Pauline Cahill supported Sneha and conducted one-to-one with the potential candidates.
