Care fit for the Queen!

Queen Elizabeth visits Leicester today to observe the ancient tradition of handing out Maundy Money to 91 men and 91 women from the local Leicester, Charnwood community of elderly and pensioners – the number representing her own age in years. This visit is the first royal visit by the Queen since her Dimond Jubilee in 2012.

Care for others is at the heart of the traditional Maundy service where the Queen will distribute ceremonial Maundy Money to elderly pensioners in recognition of their service to the church and local community. Home Instead has recently won The Queen’s Award is one of the country’s most prestigious business awards with only 249 recipients selected this year. Home Instead’s award is in the Innovation category, made in recognition of our distinguishing home care service where the social wellbeing of our clients is central to our model of companionship-led care – and now the Queen comes to Leicester herself – how exciting!
