At our recent team meeting our office staff and CAREGivers were treated to a fascinating and moving talk by Parksinson’s Society volunteer, Lauretta Harris. Lauretta has Parkinson’s and was able to give a very informative and insightful talk about the day to day difficulties faced by people with Parkinson’s.
Of key importance to people with Parkinson’s is that they are not rushed in conversation or to complete tasks and that their medication is taken exactly on time.
The way in which we, at Home Instead, provide care is exactly suited to people with Parkinson’s as we provide a minimum of one hour visits so that clients are not rushed. We also provide support to clients at the time of their choosing and arrive on time meaning that clients can be reassured that a CAREGiver will support them at the time their medication is due and not a minute later!
