Inspired and extremely proud to be Outstanding in the Caring category in latest CQC report

We are extremely proud to be Outstanding in the Caring category in our latest CQC report - the only home care provider in Thanet to receive this rating - proving unequivocally that we are the No. 1 home care provider in Thanet.

Home Instead Senior Care provides home care to older people across Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate, is inspired and extremely proud to announce that they have been recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) the regulator of health and social care in England as being ‘Outstanding’ in the Caring category. The report summarises a comprehensive inspection by the Commission, which awarded us an overall ‘Good’ rating, with a ‘Good’ rating in the other four categories: Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led. .

Clients contributed their feedback to the inspectors. One client commented, "It appeared to me that each carer who went into my relative's home, was well selected and well trained and supported in the difficult task of caring for a vulnerable elderly person."

Another relative said, "We have had the same carer since the beginning. We needed cover when they were on holiday, so two other staff came to meet us and then shadowed to see how we like things done. We know it will always be one of those staff, which helps a lot with my relative's dementia."

To achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating for the care delivered, the report also listened to members of the Home Instead caregiver team and office staff who said, "The training is great, I've done a dementia course and it makes me feel so much more confident supporting people. I support people with different types of dementia and I think I have a better understanding of what their dementia is like for them."

Another staff member said, "The managers understand what we are doing, as they still do it. I can ask for any support or help and know I will get it" while another said, "I have worked in this type of job for over 35 years and this company is the best in terms of support and caring."

Kevan Barr along with Linda Johnson are the proud owners of Home Instead Senior Care and they are overjoyed with the news. Kevan comments, “This report is testament to the quality of care and commitment that our team give to our clients every day. It’s great news for us and for local people, too. Having our care acknowledged by the report is reassuring for people looking for care for themselves or a loved one.

He continued, “We are the only home care provider in Thanet with an outstanding rating in the Caring category. This reinforces our message that we are the number one provider in the local area and we are very proud of the quality care that we deliver.”
