Understanding Dementia Workshop was a huge hit with St Mary's Church in Wimbledon Village

Today we received a lovely email from the organiser of a carers group at a local church, who invited Clare Jefferies, owner of Home Instead to run an 'Understanding Dementia' workshop recently.

'Thank you so much for coming to join us at St Mary's on the 3rd October and for giving us such a helpful dementia workshop.  I hope you were aware at the time of how much it was appreciated. I've had really positive and grateful feed-back, these messages reflect the response;

"Clare was inspiring!"

"The way Clare explained Alzheimer's with that film of the brain was brilliant, and made it so easy to understand. It all makes sense."

"It was so informative and interesting." "Please thank Clare for helping me understand more about dementia."

It was lovely to see how many people came. There is obviously a real need for information sessions like yours and you pitched it perfectly. Several people were anxious about what the session might involve and visibly relaxed during the course of it. The way you approach dementia makes it easy for people to identify with what you're saying and to open up with their concerns. Knowing how busy you are I feel very bold in asking whether you ever do follow up sessions about dementia care and coping with some of the challenges carers face?

If you are interested in participating in a future workshop - please call Clare in the office on 020 8942 4137.
